Windows

Windows needs are very specialized. Roofmax can install most any window. Roofmax can also replace windows. The following are common window types that you may be interested in installing or replacing in your home:

SINGLE HUNG WINDOWS

A single hung window is the most basic type of window available. The single-hung window has one pane of glass that covers the complete window space and is fixed in place. It does not move. Often, single hung windows are referred to as fixed windows.

DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS

A double-hung window has two separate pieces that are designed to slide up and down vertically. You can choose to open double hung windows to capture ventilation as little or as much as you desire, from either the top of the bottom. Generally, double hung windows are most appealing for bedrooms, family rooms, kitchens, or dens.

AWNING WINDOWS

Awning Windows are an ideal way to ventilate a room while preventing light rain from entering the home. Awning windows can be fit into virtually any window frame. This type of window is hinged at the top and cranks open with a small hand-crank that opens up the bottom portion. Awning windows can even be combined with other window types to create a hybrid-type window.

BAY WINDOWS

Bay Windows are the perfect window arrangement to let the beautiful outdoor light in to your home. Bay windows extend outward creating a more spacious feel and can also add a small counter or retreat for relaxing. Bay windows usually consist of one main picture window with two smaller windows on either side. The windows can be set at 30, 45, 60, or 90 degree angles.

GARDEN WINDOWS

Garden windows are a great way to bring lots of light into a room as well as create an open feeling to a room. Typically, garden windows are installed in a kitchen or similar room where plants can be easily maintained on the garden window shelf. These windows are usually made from durable, little/no maintenance vinyl, but can be made just as easily from wood or aluminum to suit your needs.

STORM WINDOWS

Storm windows are an affordable alternative to energy efficient windows. Storm windows can be placed on either the interior or exterior of a window, but the interior type is typically easier to maintain since it’s not exposed to the elements. There are a wide variety of materials used for storm windows including: thin plastic sheets, wood, aluminum, or glass.

HORIZONTAL SLIDER WINDOWS

A horizontal sliding window contains two separate panes: one that does not move, the other that slides left or right inside a track. Screens can be placed on the exterior or interior of the window unit. These windows may also be referred to as “sliders”. Horizontal sliders are most often used for bedrooms, family rooms, kitchens, and dens. Sliding windows are popular because they take up limited wall space and can be configured to suit virtually any size of wall.

SLIDING (FRENCH) DOORS

A sliding-or french-door is perfect for exits into the backyard, side yard, etc. These doors allow for the room to fill with natural light, but also keeps heat/cold out. These doors are very common in homes and businesses that want to allow for a lot of natural light.
